A week will not pass without seeing her name in the papers, haha.
Well this week apparently Bonang Matheba lost an international TV gig to the new triple threat in the game Miss Lerato Kganyago.
According to Sunday World Bonang will have to forfeit her place on DSTV’s new show Ebony Life Television as she’s already a part of Afternoon Express in SABC 3 and the two shows are based on the same format which is basically seen as a conflict of interest on her part.
The Weekly also reports that Bonang Matheba was too quick to announce that she has landed the gig on the show and the producers were not too happy about that.
“We need the show to be popularised but one should not go public about something that is not finalised. But conflict of interest was the issue here,” Ebony Life TV’s head of entertainment was quoted as saying.
It’s said that Bonang will be replaced by Lerato Kganyago who will be joined by Pearl Thusi in co-hosting the show and will start shooting from July 1st at the Red Pepper Studios.
With Lerato being so busy lately the paper could not reach her for comment but Bonang seemed very surprised by the news.
“What! I don’t know what you guys are talking about,” Matheba told the paper.
“As far as I am concerned I am still gonna do the show. Pearl Thusi is doing the show. The girls doing the show are all working for the SABC so why is it a conflict of interest for me? As I’m talking to you now I’m boarding a plane to Lagos to shoot a few episodes for that show.”
Bonang also took to Twitter to share her surprise and basically to pour cold water on the story.

So we guess all we got to do now is wait and see what happens right? This must be really awkward for Bonang right now.
