Yes, some good news about DJ Sbu today! The social entrepreneur and TV personality celebrates is 36th Birthday today. Geee we honestly thought the big guy was only in his 20’s…LOL we’re just kidding.
With all the negative media surrounding DJ Sbu we think it was only right that he took some time out of South Africa for a few days. Sbu is currently in Angola where he attended the 1st International Leadership Conference in Luanda as a guest speaker amongst other successful social entrepreneurs like himself.
Even though he’s away from home Sbu took a minute appreciate his birthday and also took to Instagram to share a Happy Birthday message that his mom sent him earlier this morning.
Check out the cute TBT from DJ Sbu’s mom followed by the cute message she sent her son below…

“As I turn a year older today. I’d like to take this moment to appreciate this thing called life and it’s challenges. To be this age coming from Tembisa I didn’t think I’ll be headlining international leadership conferences sharing my story with the world.
Today I will be on stage speaking to thousands of young leaders, professionals and entrepreneurs about our groundbreaking social entrepreneurship innovation MoFaya Beverage Company @mofaya_official. Its connection to our life changing Non-Profit Organisation SLEF @SLEF_SA & its sister company Leadership 2020 @2020leaders. I will be representing you sharing an authentic South African story.
As a kid growing eTembisa I didn’t think I’d be this blessed. My mother has been such a blessing in my life. A blessing I promised myself I will be to my only daughter. Thank you all for having always believed in me even when many continue to misunderstand me, I know there’s an army of loyal followers of my work who will go all out in standing by me no matter what.
Those people it’s people whom I have touched in one way or another. I would like to promise you that I will continue being a loud and proud ambassador of the youth continously screaming education, entrepreneurship, leadership & the spirit of giving“
“I come from NOTHING. Ask @DJFreshSA or @GregMaloka.
I’m from the bottom of the bottom. No silverspoon, richrelatives or well known parents. Just pure belief, hardwork, determination and prayer.
I have a spirit of a hustler. I’m tried and tested. I remain unshaken. I know what I stand for is way bigger than me. Its for millions of Africans.“
“Thank you all for your wonderful birthday messages and I promise to represent you well in my talk at the conference here in Luanda today. I will also touch on the #NoToXenophobia message. Tell them how much of a loving country we are that believes in unity in Africa.
Have a great day y ‘ all go to your hustle as I go earn myself another standing ovay.“
