Talk show host and model Refilwe Modiselle teams up with youth show presenter Zola Hashatsi on a new celebrity gossip show called ‘Hush’.
The two will present e.tv’s new celebrity gossip-driven show which will show case the local and international entertainment industry.
Speaking to The New Age, Refilwe said: “Hush is a platform to seek clarity. We are not a breaking news platform, but we are a vehicle that further unpacks what has been put out in the newspapers for example and bring guests on the show to clarify issues.”
Taking an example of DJ Sbu’s recent incident, she said. “My sense is that we never got to hear the full side of his story and in that case Hush is there to create that balance. We also see ourselves as the bridge between celebrities and the viewers.
“Hush will have lots of character and interactive elements because how we communicate to our viewers is very important. We are not about tearing down people but bringing out a perspective. So tonight the first episode is really to say to viewers ‘hello and welcome into our space’.”
Co-host Zola said: “I’m super excited about it, we get to go to all these events and conferences – so we are at the pulse of what is happening. The whole purpose is not to expose our peers but to honestly say ‘hey, how are you doing, are you good, and did this and that happen that way?’
Channel managing director Monde Twala said: “Everyone loves the world of showbiz. Refilwe and Zola are vibrant and I am sure that viewers will love their unfiltered approach to Mzansi’s celebville.”
‘Hush’ premiers on Friday 23 April at 6pm on e.tv.
