In Case You Missed It: Cops On The Hunt For Isibaya’s Siyabonga Twala

So rumour has it that celebs get away with almost anything they want to right? Wrong!

Police are on the hunt for former Generations star and lead actor on Mzansi Magic’s Isibaya, Siyabonga Twala. It is said that Twala was allegedly clocked traveling at a speed of 153km/h north of Durban.

KZN traffic authorities claim that Twala was stopped by officers from their RTI’s Groutville Traffic Office for speeding on the N2 near Ballito in a borrowed car.

The officers say that Twala was cooperative and handed them his license, the officers then handed back his licenses but as soon as they were about to hand Twala his R1500 speeding ticket he sped off. For anyone to get a speeding ticket, it doesn’t look too good on record. But if the individual learns from their mistakes and finds that attending a ca traffic school course, for example, is for their best interest as a driver, then they have nothing to worry about when it comes to moving forward. But for Twala, he decided the best thing for him to do was flee the scene, which was never going to turn out too well.

“The officer managed to take down his details but then he ran away. He can be arrested because he failed to comply with the lawful instructions of an officer,” she said.

The incident happened shortly before 10 am on Wednesday.

The officer had taken down Twala’s license details, while the officer was filling in the rest of the details on the form such as the date as to when Twala is meant to pay the ticket, he simply got into his car and drove off.

It is reported that the officer, identified as Senior Traffic Inspector SP Dlamini, was told by Twala that “he was rushing for a meeting with our HOD. I asked my HOD. He had no idea what I was talking about.”

The RTI later tracked down the owner of the vehicle and the owner was quoted saying that they “had an agreement” that Twala could use the vehicle.

Do you think Twala will be tracked down and dealt with accordingly? Or will this just be one of those situations that just float with the wind?

One of the main issues that will arise from this incident is that when Twala wants insurance for his own car or needs to renew it, he’s going to find it particularly hard as he would be classed as a convicted driver because of speeding, and he will have that on his record. He may have to look into Convicted Driver Car Insurance just in case, but hopefully, whatever happens with this case, it is done with the best interests of road and driver safety.
