Xiaomi is expected to introduce the successor to the Mi Mix Fold this year to stay up-to-date in the flexible-screen cell phone market. Some possible specs for the device were revealed by the Xiaomiui portal, with details of processor, screens and cameras.

Specifically regarding the chipset used, there is some doubt. The new Mix Fold is expected to come with a platform based on the SM8450 — which is known by the trade name Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. However, like the SM8475 (a future Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, or Gen 1 Plus) it is also based on the SM8450, it’s possible that the next foldable will come with a processor that hasn’t even been released so far.

The product will maintain the same construction with an internal flexible screen of 8.01 inches, and rigid external display with more compact dimensions, of 6.56 inches. The new generation will be able to still have an internal screen of 152.1 x 135 mm when opened, and panel of 153.2 x 65.7 mm on the outside.
Resolutions would be 2,160 x 1,916 pixels and 1,080 x 2,520 pixels, and Mi Mix Fold 2 would support higher refresh rates, even though the prototype found by Xiaomiui is still limited to 60 Hz.
The portal also indicates that the device should have three cameras on the rear module, the main one being accompanied by the ultrawide and telephoto. The primary camera would support optical image stabilization, but more details regarding the sensors have not been released.
The device is also known by the codename “zizhan” and the code 22061218C, which in turn still reveals some extra details. The letter “C” at the end of the sequence indicates that the device will be exclusive to the Chinese market, while the “2206” at the beginning indicates that it may be presented in June this year (06/22).
Xiaomi has yet to confirm the existence of this device, and further details regarding other performance components, battery and suggested price remain elusive.
