WhatsApp Desktop tests a new pause button to stop and resume recording an audio message. The function is hidden in build 2.2201.2 of the desktop messenger beta version, according to information from the WABetaInfo website.
The addition is quite simple: when you start recording an audio message, a pause button appears next to “Send”; clicking on it interrupts the microphone capture, allowing you to hear the already recorded section. Then, if you want to continue, just click on the microphone icon and speak again.
For people who record long messages or are in noisy environments, the option to pause recording is very important. You know that moment when the audio is almost complete and you need to take a quick break to talk to someone else or check out some information? This is exactly what the tool is for.

As it is in a test period, there is no forecast for a large-scale launch. The trial version of WhatsApp Desktop should be automatically updated on Windows, so if the news hasn’t appeared on your computer yet, just wait.
