Intel Arc A370M GPU for notebooks has name reinforced by leaked test –

A new benchmark result, found by the leaker TUM_APISAK, shows what could be one of the first notebooks equipped with the Intel Arc A370M, a new entry-level GPU from the Santa Clara giant focused on the gamer audience. In addition to giving us an idea of the positioning of the solution, the test reinforces the rumors about the naming system that Intel should use for its bets on the video card market.

Intel Arc A370M emerges in leaked test

Intel’s basic GPU was found in the BAPCo database, the same test that had detailed some information about the 13th generation of Raptor Lake processors, equipping a notebook of curious configurations, with high power. The listed machine features a 14-core, 20-thread Intel Core i7 12800H CPU, 8GB of single-channel DDR5-4800 RAM and a 500GB Samsung 980 SSD.

The highlight goes to the graphics chip, registered as Intel Arc A370M, a point that reinforces the previously leaked Arc family naming system. As far as is known, the company must match the initial of the current architecture, in the Alchemist case, with the family number (700 for high-end, 500 for intermediate and 300 for basic) and the model, with numbers like 50, 70 and 80, following the rivals. The letter “M” at the end, as expected, indicates that it is a laptop model.

The test doesn’t show specific GPU Arc performance numbers, nor the chip’s specifications, but much of the information is already known thanks to another recent leak, which brought details about the possible full line of models that Intel will offer for notebooks.

GPU must compete with RX 6300M and MX550

the leaker @9550pro released this week an alleged leaked slide from Intel, dedicated to listing the memory settings of the different Arc GPUs. In total, there will be 5 different chip configurations, ranging from the top of the line with 512 Vector Engines and the basic with 96 Vector Engines. The Arc A370M is expected to be equipped with an intermediate variant, the DG2-128 GPU, with 128 Vector Engines.

This solution would have a total of 1,024 cores, accompanied by 4 GB of GDDR6 memory operating at 14 Gbps, on a 64-bit interface, to achieve a bandwidth of 112 GB/s. The specs are modest, so the A370M is likely to be a successor to the Iris Xe MAX, competing with models like the Radeon RX 6300M and GeForce MX550.

The Intel Arc Alchemist family of gaming graphics cards was scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2022, but rumors indicate that the solutions should only be revealed in the second quarter – information suggests that Intel would have delayed the announcement to better polish the GPU drivers.
