Twitter is developing a new section called “Articles,” likely meant for longer tweets, programmer Jane Manchun Wong discovered Wednesday. The new area of the social network, whose purpose has not yet been revealed, could be a new home to store “threads” (or “threads”, as they are also known), in an organized way and without the traditional 280-character segmentation.
The mysterious Twitter tab was found on the web version of the network and does not contain any concrete information other than the phrase “Create a new Twitter article”. There is still no clue about the purpose of the tool, nor about how it will fit into the platform’s quick publishing routine.

Contacting CNET, a Twitter spokesperson declined to provide more details, but said the platform “is always looking for new ways to help people communicate.” More information should be revealed in the future, he said.
Twitter works on different news
New things never stop coming to Twitter — this new section for articles is just one of them. Recently, indications of an “About” tab for the profile were found on the social network, but nothing is known about its purpose.
Another important addition would be Flock, Twitter’s “Close Friends”. The function has been requested by the community for a long time and can be a great help to minimize the creation of secondary accounts to publish tweets that not everyone should see.
