Murderville recently arrived at Netflix and it didn’t take long to fall into the graces of subscribers. With a different proposal to please the fans of sitcomsthe comedy series follows a new murder case every day and Detective Terry Seattle’s new partnership with a celebrity guest.
However, what really won over audiences on the series were the genuine emotions of each guest. This because Murderville it’s nothing more than a prank, that is: the participants don’t receive the script and have no idea what’s going to happen – and even then they have to improvise the entire investigation alongside Terry Seattle.
With six episodes, the celebrity guests of the first season were Annie Murphy, Conan O’Brien, Ken Jeong, Kumail Nanjiani, Sharon Stone and Marshawn Lynch. The latter even explained to ScreenRant how all the improvisation of Murderville.

According to the former NFL star, although there is a chance to record second takes on the show, the improvisation is that the first material is used. That way, whatever is most genuine on the part of the actor can be used in the final result.
“If you look at the list, there are some very heavy hitters. And they know I’m probably the rawest of them all,” Lynch declared to the foreign portal, referring to the good improv actors. “This is what they’re going to say to you, ‘This is the direction we’re going’ and things like ‘follow the leader,’ and it’s like, ‘Okay, but what clue is this?’”
The guest also explained that the great thing is when the director shouts “Action” and anything can happen, taking everyone by surprise. “[Vocë fica se perguntando] ‘What is it?’ and based on people’s reactions, things go in one direction or another.”
Lynch is an American football player and has served as running back from the Seattle Seahawks until 2019. Since then, he has made television appearances, which even included a cameo in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and a recurring role in Westworld.

Murderville follows Will Arnett as senior homicide detective Terry Seattle, discovering the culprit in a different murder every day. The comedy pleased critics, garnering a 77% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Experts agree that the series’ improvised premise can lead to a bit “dead” bits, but the moments of spontaneous inspiration are worth it and can help Will Arnett in the case.
