In a press conference on Saturday afternoon before the match against Valencia this Sunday (4:15 p.m.), FC Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez mentioned the Ousmane Dembélé case. The French winger, who came into play in Barça’s last two games, returned to the Catalan group after being at the heart of a media soap opera around a possible departure during the winter transfer window.
“A problem with Dembele? That’s no longer news. He’s just an average player and when I think it’s appropriate I’ll play him. When he came on, he played very well. He had conviction when he played. He will help us a lot” said the Catalan manager. The 24-year-old Frenchman, whose contract with Barça ends next June, has still not extended.
