Scotland secured their fourth gold medal of the Commonwealth Games with victory in the Para pairs bowls on Wednesday.

Pauline Wilson and Rosemary Lenton – with a combined age of 130 – defeated their Australian opponents 16-5 in a dominant display.

Scotland could win another gold later on Wednesday when Sarah Adlington faces Tulika Maan in the 78kg judo showpiece.

Her team-mate Rachel Tytler claimed bronze in the same category.

Adlington would become the first Scot to win two judo golds having taken the 2014 title.

Another Scot – Andrew McWatt – will also fight for a medal in the 100kg.

Scotland’s boxers have also secured at least three bronze medals after Reese Lynch, Sam Hickey and Sean Lazzerini won their quarter-finals on Wednesday.

There are also medal chances on Wednesday in the pool, where Duncan Scott could win his 12th medal, and on the track, where Eilish McColgan (10,000m) and David Smith (high jump) will both be in finals.

Scotland have won 26 medals at the halfway point of the Games, with three gold, eight silver and 15 bronze.
