Newcastle United were looking for good opportunities in the transfer market during the month of January. After signing Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Matt Targett and Bruno Guimarães, the Magpies were looking for a new goalkeeper to replace Martin Dubravka. They had targeted Dean Henderson, who lacked playing time at Manchester United.
David De Gea’s understudy has only played three games this season and does not seem to have convinced his coach Ralf Rangnick. The Magpies then offered a goalkeeper swap in the form of a loan. This offer had been accepted by the Red Devils board, but the Slovak goalkeeper did not wish to join Manchester to be an understudy, claims the Manchester Evening News.
