Apple released the iOS 15.3.1 and iPadOS 15.3.1 update this Thursday (11). Without usability improvements, the package fixes security holes in WebKit, Safari’s rendering engine, and addresses an issue that caused Braille Displays to stop responding. The macOS 12.2.1 and watchOS 8.4.2 packages also debuted to the general public.
As for WebKit, the fixed loophole prevents the rendering engine from allowing arbitrary code execution when loading malicious web content. Apple reports that the vulnerability may have already been exploited by criminals, so installing the update is highly recommended.
Fixed bugs and more security
Apple did not elaborate on the bug affecting Braille Lines. The company just points out that the problem that made the display “stop responding” has been fixed, however, in any case, it is an important addition to ensure accessibility.

On macOS, the update has security improvements and fixes a bug that drained the battery of Intel CPU Macs when connecting peripherals via Bluetooth. While on Apple Watch, the build introduces security updates and bug fixes.
The update is automatically distributed to users who are not enrolled in the iOS Early Access program. If the package has not yet arrived at your device, it is worth going to Settings > General > Software Update to do a manual scan.
