Microsoft is preparing stickers for the desktop wallpaper and important improvements for the Focus Assistant in Windows 11. Still quite limited, the features were found by recurring informant Albacore, who on Twitter shared screenshots that show clues as to how the news will work.
The new wallpaper stickers are somewhat mysterious and very limited as per the Albacore leaks. The resource was found in Settings > Personalization > Background and it is not known exactly how it will work, but perhaps they serve as small virtual “frames” to display important photos on the computer’s home screen, similar to a widget from the abandoned Windows 7.
There’s an interesting personalization feature coming to Windows 11 – Stickers for your wallpaper. You’ll be able to configure them using a new Sticker Editor app, they’ll persist across wallpaper changes as long as you don’t use a slideshow, use Fill fit & have only 1 monitor. pic.twitter.com/KIVtVxw3BC

However, the novelty is full of limitations: multiple monitors are not yet supported, wallpapers set to “Slideshow” also do not let the feature work and the wallpaper needs to be set to “Fill”. Probably, however, these limitations should not persist once the stickers are released to the public.
The other novelty is the redesign of the Focus Assistant — which in the future will have its name reduced to “Focus”. According to the informant, the concentration tool will be more closely integrated with Outlook and Windows applications, offering a much deeper set of options.
A few more improvements coming to Windows 11 🍃• Sustainability: better energy consumption and device recycling awareness• Focus Assist is becoming Focus, now schedulable through Outlook & sporting more granular options• Notification priorities no longer tucked away in UI pic.twitter.com/5V6t51rDP4

For those who don’t know, the Focus Assistant in Windows 11 allows you to silence notifications, warnings and computer alarms so they don’t get in the way at times that demand maximum concentration on a task. When activated, the notices that arrive on the computer are automatically placed in the notification tray, but without emitting any sound, nor appearing on the screen.
The limitation, however, lies in the absence of choosing the priority level of notifications — the new Focus does not allow you to define which apps can go beyond the silence restrictions. Also, it is still not possible to activate the feature, but without interfering with the alarms.
Advanced battery control
Finally, Albacore’s latest find was the “Sustainability” page in the Windows 11 Settings menu. The function apparently serves to define performance profiles to optimize battery consumption and better understand how to recycle the computer in case it runs out. of lifespan.
At the top of this section, icons that refer to leaves are apparently an “Eco Score”, a measure that will highlight how optimized the computer’s energy consumption is. This element, however, does not work for the time being.
Resources under development
The Albacore profile was able to access the functions even before testers, digging into the Windows 11 code. Considering that the news doesn’t seem to work as it should, it’s likely that Microsoft will still work on them before releasing to members of the Windows Insider program — first, those subscribed to the Dev Channel.
It’s worth noting that Microsoft will take a somewhat more “experimental” approach on the Windows Insider Dev Channel from now on. Features introduced in this version may never be released to the general public, so users of trial versions will be able to learn about concepts that the brand develops more frequently.
