Google Chat has received several updates in recent months. The latest feature of the chat app will allow it to notify the user when a snippet of a conversation is deleted from the chat.
According to Google, users will now be able to see when someone deletes a message in a non-threaded messenger conversation. So users will be able to understand the reason for the empty gaps in the app chat.
Instead of seeing the message, users will see a notification with the description “Message deleted by author” and a timestamp when it is deleted. To delete it, the user must tap the delete button.

Also, when a message is deleted, all replies associated with it also disappearthis includes replies from other people. If the user does not want to delete it, he can edit it by selecting the edit button.
Another important detail is that the act of deleting a message can only be done on a work or school chat account, as personal accounts do not have the feature.
The new deleted message notification tool will be available to all Google Workspace customers — including GSuite Basic and Business customers. The feature will be enabled by default as there is no admin control for it.
