While it has just recorded the arrival of Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, Juventus Turin would also like to keep Álvaro Morata in its workforce at the end of his loan. The Spaniard had an eventful month of January since he was close to joining FC Barcelona, who said they were ready to welcome him on loan. But the leaders of Atlético de Madrid, the club to which Morata belongs, only wanted a dry transfer if the striker joined Catalonia.
The former Chelsea center-forward has therefore remained in Turin and will have to fight for his place in Massimiliano Allegri’s starting XI. However, the Italian manager has always said he wants to keep the Spaniard in his squad. The Old Lady’s problem in this case is the player’s release clause, which amounts to €35m. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Italians are hoping to convince their Madrid counterparts to lower the price to €20m, which doesn’t seem to suit the Colchoneros. If no agreement between the two clubs is found then the player will return to Madrid, where his future is more than uncertain.
