After the failure of the OnePlus X, the Chinese moved away from basic cell phones for a long time. The return in 2020, however, came with force: there are already several basic and intermediate products on the market under the Nord line. And the next one should be the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite, with 5G connectivity, which has just been leaked in new camera details.
The main sensor would bet on high resolution, with 64 MP in a component made by Omnivision. However, the other lenses would be basic: a 2 MP monochrome auxiliary and a 2 MP macro camera, which doesn’t help much when we talk about detailed records such as close-up photography.
On the front would be 16 MP of resolution, with the Sony IMX471 sensor — same used in the OnePlus 9 Pro. So, if confirmed, OnePlus would be betting high on selfies to highlight the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite.

Good news for those who have not yet surrendered to Bluetooth headphones is the device being considered to have a P2 3.5 mm connection. It would, however, lose the quick slider that activates or deactivates silent mode — a feature popularized by Apple and used for years by OnePlus.
OnePlus x Xiaomi
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite should be a rival for the Redmi Note 11 line. The phone from the newly merged with Oppo would offer the Snapdragon 695 5G, alongside 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. It has become common for even mid-range phones to leave behind models with only 64 GB of storage.
About battery, there would be 5,000 mAh of capacity, typical of intermediate smartphones. Showing that Chinese are really thinking about fast charging as something essential, it would bring support for 33 W per wire. There are no details on wireless or reverse charging yet.
It is worth remembering that despite the new details, no insider points out when OnePlus would announce the Nord CE 2 Lite. The expectation is that its launch will not really be that flashy, but that it will preserve a good appeal in some key markets, such as India, as its set of hardware should make possible a palatable and competitive price.
