The Fiat Argo became less powerful in both version 1.0 and 1.3. To adapt to the new noise, emissions and consumption standards of the Pronconve L7, the Italian automaker had to modify the Firefly thrusters, launched along with the hatch in 2017.
With the changes, the Fiat Argo 1.0 now has 75cv of power and 10.7 kgf/m of torque with ethanol and 71cv and 10 kgf/m with gasoline. The variants equipped with the 1.3 engine deliver 107hp and 13.7 kgf/m with ethanol and 98hp and 13.2 kgf/m with gasoline, the same numbers as the Fiat Pulse and Fiat Strada with the same engine.
In consumption, however, the situation has improved — even if timidly. The Fiat Argo 1.0 now does 9.6 km/l in the city and 10.6 km/l on the highway with ethanol. In gasoline, the numbers are much better: 13.6 km/l in the city and 15.1 lm/l on the highway.

The 1.3 engine, at least in the hatch, has consumption very similar to that of the lower liter propellant: 9.1 km/l in the city and 10.5 km/l on the highway when fueled with fuel derived from sugar cane, while in the gasoline the figures are 13.1 km/l and 15 km/l respectively.
Fiat’s next step is now to implement the CVT automatic transmission in the Argo line with the 1.3 engine, leaving the hatch in line with the Pulse and Strada. A version with the 130hp 1.0-liter turbo engine is expected, but without confirmation from the automaker. As is known, the 1.8 models were retired by the brand.

Engine changes should also affect the Fiat Cronos sedan and the adventurous version of the hatch, the Fiat Argo Trekking.
