Their ex-boyfriends have moved on… but they haven’t. I Want You Back is the newest original movie from Amazon Studios, starring Charlie Day (I want to kill my boss) and Jenny Slate (Big Mouth), and one of the highlights of February’s Prime Video lineup.
In the story, Peter and Emma don’t know each other, but when they do, they discover this common misfortune: both were unexpectedly dumped by their respective partners, Anne (Gina Rodriguez, from Jane the Virgin) and Noah (Scott Eastwood, in A long journey) on the same weekend. It’s a rather strange coincidence, but as the saying goes, “misery loves company.”
When the now-friends discover that their exes have moved on with new romances, they are terrified that they may have lost their chance to be happily ever after. Horrified at the thought of having to start over, Peter and Emma plan something desperate and unlikely to work: win back the love of their lives and take them away from their new boyfriend, Logan (Manny Jacinto, from The Good Place) and Ginny (Clark Backo, from Love at Look Lodge).

As with all romantic comedy, audiences can expect mischief, good doses of drama and, of course, romance. I Want You Back is directed by Jason Orley (A Mr Intern). Who signs the script is Isaac Aptaker (How I Met Your Father) and Elizabeth Berger (Love, Victor).
I Want You Back arrives on Prime Video on February 11, 2022.
