Final Fantasy 7 Remake | Part 2 is expected to be revealed in 2022 –

the director of Final Fantasy VII original and producer of the 2020 remake, Yoshinori Kitase, said fans can expect news about Part 2 of Final Fantasy VII Remake still this year. He revealed the information during an event commemorating the franchise’s 25th anniversary.

“We are working hard on Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis [spin-off que será lançado para celulares neste ano], so please look forward to it. Also, regarding the long-awaited Part 2 of Final Fantasy VII Remake… there will be more information … this year if we can,” he said. The game’s continuation has been in full development since July 2020.

Asked if he was sure that Part 2 would be revealed this year, Kitase added: “well, yes. We have just started the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII, so we want to celebrate and get fans excited, so over the next 12 months we want to share some information. Wait for more information!”

Final Fantasy 7 will have other spin-offs

The team also announced that Final Fantasy VII will continue to yield other spin-off games. In a letter posted on the franchise’s official Twitter account, Kitase said that “you can expect more exciting developments in the future.”

Tetsuya Nomura, character designer on the original game and creative director of the remake, said the recent releases have given him “a real sense of how more and more people are supporting Final Fantasy VII” — not just old fans, but also people who have never had contact with the original games. He wrote:

“There will be even more projects to Final Fantasy VII, which started after the remake, which will arrive in the future as well. The team sees this 25th anniversary as a starting point on our journey with Final Fantasy VII, and will continue to move forward with even greater things.”

It is worth remembering that the first part of the remake only has the story that takes place in Midgar, covering about seven hours of the original game. An expansion called INTERmission, was released in 2021 and added a side story to parts 1 and 2.
