While Spurs were fairly quiet this winter, Antonio Conte will receive two nice gifts.
The English clubs will have finally been reasonable this winter. Some large sums have been sent, by Newcastle for Wood (€30m) or Aston Villa for Digne (same amount), while Liverpool are preparing to drop 60 million euros for Luis Diaz. But overall, the month of January was rather quiet. Tottenham, for example, did not register any arrivals.
A situation which may surprise, since without being fundamentally in crisis, the Spurs are still seventh. A somewhat misleading ranking, since the Londoners have a few games less than many teams placed in front of them such as the Red Devils, fourth, but on the side of the English capital, new names were expected to really strengthen the team.
A big check for Juve
And they will arrive well in the next few hours. As various Italian media report as Sky Italia, Spurs are close to enlisting Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski. Fabio Paratici, former Juventus, will thus offer the two players to Conte. For the Swede, it is a loan with an obligation to buy depending on the number of matches played. A sum that will amount to 40 million euros.
As for the Uruguayan, it is a priori a dry transfer, on the basis of a fixed amount of 19 million euros and a bonus of 6 million euros. In total, the Spurs would pay 65 million euros. A nice check which will do good to Juventus, and above all, which will offer new weapons to an Antonio Conte who was crazy about Adama Traoré, who finally left for Barcelona …
