Philips introduces 2022 line sound systems with up to 310 W of power –

Philips presented a series of products during an event held this Thursday (27). In addition to items such as televisions, headphones and portable speakers, the brand also showed a series of wireless systems aimed at indoor audio. In total, there are three speakers with “a lot of details, perfect synchronization and easy control”, according to what was informed by the company.

Philips TAW8506

The TAW8506 is one of the most powerful models among those presented by Philips, with 150 W RMS and a maximum of 300 W at 10% THD (Total Harmonic Histortion, or Total Harmonic Distortion, a value that should be as low as possible). The product supports DTS Play-Fi for connecting other devices around it, and it also supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac.

The look of the sound box is quite discreet and ideal for most environments, according to the brand. Its construction is minimalist and there are few wired connectivity ports (only a USB-A and power cable input), which highlights its focus on use through wireless pairings.

Philips TAW6205 and TAW6505

Even though they have similar names, the two models have considerable differences in their internal constructions. The TAW6205 has a taller, slimmer form factor, supporting one channel of sound via a 1-inch tweeter, along with a 3.5-inch woofer. The TAW6505 is lower and wider to house a two-channel system, with two 1-inch tweeters and two more 3.5-inch woofers.

With this, there is also a difference in power delivery, with 40 W at 10% THD, and 80 W at 1% THD respectively. On the other hand, the rest of the specifications are common to both products, such as the existence of two passive radiators, and wireless connectivity options through DTS Play-Fi, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2.

The two speakers even have more usability options compared to the TAW8506, with support for virtual assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant, built-in Chromecast and compatibility with Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2.

The products are also available in silver, with a fabric finish and LED lights at the rear that can be synchronized using Ambilight technology.

Speakers Fidelio

The brand also showed new products for entertainment with surround sound from the Fidelio line. The FW1 subwoofer is capable of delivering up to 200W RMS, with a large 8-inch woofer pointing downwards and aided by two passive radiators on the sides, for “deep, detailed and fast” bass, according to Philips reports. .

The FB1 is a soundbar with support for Dolby Atmos and 7.1.5 channels, with a total of 15 drivers pointed in various directions, such as front, side and top. In total, the product is capable of delivering 310 W of power, with quality at all frequencies through components strategically positioned in three separate chambers (left, center and right).

With a focus on versatility, the FS1 speaker can be used with a single unit, a stereo pair or even additional speakers to complete a 7.1.4 system through use in conjunction with the FW1 subwoofer and FS1 soundbar. Philips also guarantees full integration between the products, with automatic detection between them the first time they are turned on and perfect synchronization with Ambilight lights.

Philips has not yet released deadlines for the start of sales of the products, nor their suggested prices.
