POCO X4 5G gains new certifications and could be announced soon –

Expected to be one of POCO’s first launches in 2022, the POCO X4 5G was once again found in regulatory bodies, this time in India and Malaysia. Already seen in IMEI listings and from telecom agencies in other countries, the new records reinforce the supposed name of the device and indicate that the announcement may be close.

POCO X4 5G wins new certification

The information was found by the leaker Mukul Sharma in the BIS and DNB database, Anatel’s Indian and Malay equivalents, and refer to models 2201116PG and 2201116PI, whose final letter is used to denote which variant the code belongs to, with G for global and I for Indian. The fact that we observe the same code, disregarding the variations, in different agencies, reinforces the existence of the device.

The DNB record is even more interesting as it reinforces that the device in question is the speculated POCO X4 5G, a point that suggests a change in the naming of the line, hitherto accompanied by the suffix “NFC”, to suggest the presence of wireless technology. The global and Indian variants are expected to share the same name, but this is a questionable possibility given Xiaomi’s somewhat confusing track record in naming its products.

Normally, when there is such a segmentation, India gets a different model from the global market, either in name or even in specifications. On the occasion of no changes, the POCO X4 5G is expected to be, in fact, a slightly modified version of the Chinese Redmi Note 11 Pro, which was launched in the Asian country in October last year.

Device may be renamed Chinese Redmi Note 11 Pro

According to rumors, the POCO X4 5G would be announced as a global variant of the Redmi Note 11 Pro launched in China, which, it is worth noting, differs from the device of the same name announced this Wednesday (26) by the company. The model would complement the launch of the POCO M4 Pro 5G, launched as the global variant of the Chinese Redmi Note 11.

If the rumor is confirmed, the “new” smartphone from POCO should hit the market equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 920 5G chipset, with 8 cores up to 2.5 GHz, accompanied by 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, 6.67-inch Full HD+ 120 Hz Super AMOLED display, 108 MP triple camera, JBL-optimized stereo audio, 5,160 mAh battery with 67 W fast charging and Android 11, under the new MIUI 13.

We can still expect slight visual changes on the phone, similar to other recent releases of the brand, such as more color options and a more flashy camera module with the POCO logo. It is not yet known when the POCO X4 5G will be announced, but considering the certifications issued in multiple countries, it is likely that the device will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
