Foxconn is investing heavily in electric cars and has just announced the arrival of another model with its fingerprints: an electric pickup made under the Lordstown Motors brand. This vehicle will have the size and technology to compete with models like the Chevrolet Silverado, the Ford F-150 Lightning and, of course, the very late Tesla Cybertruck.
After acquiring Lordstown from General Motors in 2021, Foxconn took over the company’s factory to accelerate the Endurance pickup project, which is already in an advanced stage of development and is expected to get a fuller presentation soon.
Large in size and with a futuristic design, Endurance has already gone through some not-so-successful tests in the last year, even before the acquisition by Foxconn. In a range demonstration, for example, the vehicle covered only 65 of the planned 400 kilometers.

On Lordstown’s official website, there is no concrete information about the engine, load capacity or other specifications, but the construction with four electric motors allocated to each of the pickup’s wheels is confirmed, reinforcing the idea of being a work vehicle with appeal. off-road.
When does Endurance arrive?
According to Foxconn CEO Young Liu, the first Endurance units will be delivered in the second half of 2022, but in Taiwan, the company’s home country. However, the manufacturer’s idea is to fight head-on with the US giants.
If it launches even in 2022, Foxconn will deal a heavy blow to Tesla, which delays the start of Cybertruck sales more and more.
In addition to Lordstown, Foxconn has partnerships with Fisker and Stellantis to manufacture electric cars and supply components.
