Twitter develops a tool to publish tweets only to a small group of followers, in a style very similar to the “Close Friends” of Instagram. Found hidden in code in the application, the function should be officially called Twitter Flock and has been awaited by users of the social network for a long time.
It is not new that the network evaluates the idea of creating a “secondary feed” for publishing posts that should not be seen by everyone. In July last year, the platform revealed that it was evaluating a model of private publications for a specific group of followers, at the time called “Trusted Friends”.
#Twitter continues to work on Twitter Flock by adding an explanation of how it works 👀

According to the findings of programmer Alessandro Paluzzi and the site XDA Developers, Flock would be the definitive version of this idea. A screenshot shared by the informant shows that it would be possible to add up to 150 people to this select group and that posts could only be seen and replied to by members of this group.
Just like “Close Friends”
No contact would be notified if they were removed from the select list, but a warning would appear in the feed if they were added. To make a publication, just start a regular tweet and choose on the spot who will be able to see it; it remains to be seen, however, how Flock members would be displayed in the feed.

There is still no forecast for the launch of the Twitter Flock, but its arrival could finally reduce the amount of secondary accounts made exclusively to make posts with controlled reach. For now, we just have to wait for more news.
