While a serial sequence such as The Sims 5, is not enough for EA’s simulation franchise, fans of the games create challenges to keep the experience in the Sims 4 interesting. Thinking about applying a good dose of difficulty to the gameplay, the community developed the curious and macabre challenge of Black Widow.
To take the challenge, just have the Sims 4 installed. It is not necessary to rely on any modification or code, just follow the mission rules. The Black Widow’s challenge is to create a character who marries 10 times in a lifetime, killing each spouse along the way.
There are two ways to start the challenge: the player can choose to live in their spouse’s house, keeping all the tombstones on the lot, or they can live on the lot itself, but needing to closely monitor all the murders. There are different ways to kill a Sim in the game, such as death by poison or death by shame.

How to start the Black Widow challenge in The Sims 4
- Set the Sims lifespan to normal. Then create a Sim who is a young adult.
- Give your Sim the following three traits: Romantic, Snob, and Materialistic.
- Give the Sim the Serial Romantic aspiration.
- Transfer the Sim to a lot or house. From this moment, the challenge will begin.
- Choose a Sim and get married. So, throw a party to show the whole neighborhood that you make a perfect couple. The party must be approved with a silver rating.
- During or after the party, find a new romantic interest and get caught cheating on your current partner to spark a fight.
- Kill the partner and marry the new love interest. The victim’s headstone must bear the inscription “died for the Black Widow”.
- Repeat the process until you have at least 10 headstones. Be careful not to be fatally caught by the spirits of ex-partners.
There are few rules for completing the Black Widow challenge. The main one is that the player-controlled Sim cannot use codes or have a job. The only way to make money is by inheriting from your dead ex-partner or selling collectibles you find before you get married.
Black Widow will also only be able to marry single Sims and must max out Cooking and Charisma skills before completing 10 victims.
