Cadillac is synonymous with luxury, and everyone knows that, but what the General Motors division revealed at CES 2022 was much more than that: The Cadillac InnerSpace Concept is a true living room on wheels.
The prototype managed to unite a bold and futuristic look with the latest technology and comfort in a single vehicle. The Cadillac Innerspace is designed to be 100% self-contained and to comfortably house two occupants.
To do this, he joined the two front seats into a single one, transforming them into a kind of sofa. The traditional digital panels were replaced by a giant augmented reality screen and, for good measure, eliminated the steering wheel. After all, the idea is for it to be 100% autonomous.

“The vehicles in the Cadillac Halo Concept Portfolio are designed to provide effortless travel in extraordinary ways. They are visions for the next decade and beyond, showing General Motors’ comprehensive possibilities for autonomous drive technology, aiming for a world with zero accidents, zero emissions and zero congestion,” said Bryan Nesbitt, CEO of GM Global Advanced Design .
He also highlighted the critical role that electrification and autonomous driving will play in the Cadillac of the future. “Electrification and autonomous driving will fundamentally change the role of vehicles and the experiences that customers have with them,” he pointed out. “We will give customers maximum luxury, more personal time instead of wasting it.”
Technology inside and out
The living room on wheels will be packed with technology inside and out. In addition to the Ultium Platform battery management, GM designed the futuristic car with AI driven biometric input.
The interfaces are accessible through a large, panoramic and immersive SMD LED display, which allows passengers to select the themes Engagement with Augmented Reality, Entertainment and Well-Being Recovery for the trip.
From the outside, the Cadillac concept car shown at CES 2022 features expansive panoramic glass in the roof and body sides for a clean, wide reach. The roof opens with the doors for a more comfortable entry and exit, and the seats also swivel outwards when the doors are opened, increasing comfort for “getting off the couch”.
