A remake of the game The Last of Us, originally released in 2013 for PlayStation 3, may be released this year for PlayStation 5. The rumor was released by journalist Tom Henderson and reinforced by the website Video Game Chronicles.
“I heard from several people that the remake of The Last of Us is almost finished, and could be released during the second half of 2022,” wrote Henderson on his Twitter profile. He also stated that Naughty Dog, the owner of the franchise, is working on a Director’s Cut in The Last of Us Part 2, that is, a version with additional content and improved graphics.
In Henderson’s opinion, the remake can serve to generate “hype” (when a product is highly anticipated or speculated) for the series. The Last of Us, in production by HBO. Joel will be played by Pedro Pascal, from game of Thrones and The Mandalorian; Ellie, by Bella Ramsey, also from game of Thrones it’s from His Dark Materials. The series is not scheduled for release.

But I think the overall goal here is to drum up hype for the HBO show, so we’ll see what happens – And to be honest, Q3/Q4 2022 for Sony looks a little lackluster at the moment. So we’ll see what happens!
Exciting times ahead! 😀

THE Kenyannews has been publishing information about the possible game since April 2021, when we reported that a Sony support studio called Visual Arts Service Group had been producing the supposed remake since 2019. However, the project would be in the hands of Naughty Dog, with Visual Arts acting as an assistance studio, causing discomfort among companies.
Naughty Dog co-chair Neil Druckmann said during Sony’s CES 2022 conference that he was “dying to share the multiple game projects” in production. The remake of the first The Last of Us may be one of those projects, in addition to the online multiplayer mode of The Last of Us Part 2, which had its release delayed.
