There is a little-known trick among iPhone users that allows you to save your custom Memojis as a photo on your iOS device’s camera roll. From there, you can set the image as your profile picture from WhatsApp or from other social networks and communication apps.
Learn in the steps below how to put a Memoji as your WhatsApp profile picture on your iPhone:
- Open the Notes app on your iPhone and create a new note. On the keyboard, locate your Memojis and enter the pose you want to save as a photo;
- With Memoji inserted in the note, click on its image. When opening Memoji on the screen, locate the share icon in the lower left corner of the screen and click to save the image;
- When you open the Photos app, you’ll find a saved photo of your Memoji in your iPhone’s Camera Roll;
- Before setting it as your WhatsApp profile picture, you will notice that it is saved in PNG format, with transparent background. This means that when you apply it to WhatsApp, the background will automatically turn black.
If you want to use it with a white background, there is a simple, fast way that doesn’t require advanced knowledge of photo editing: open the image and take a screenshot of the screen. Now, you will find on the camera roll the saved image of Memoji and the screen print with Memoji on a white background;
- With that done, open WhatsApp on your iPhone and click on “Settings” in the lower right corner of the screen;
- In the settings screen, log into your profile and click “Edit” just below your current profile picture in the app;
- With your current photo open on the canvas, click “Edit” at the top right and then “Choose photo”;
- Select the Memoji print with the white background and that’s it, your new profile picture will be updated to your Memoji image.
