New poster for The Batman further highlights the hero’s relationship with Catwoman –

the new poster of the batman it highlights the complementary relationship that the hero figure will have with Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), a point that seems to be central within the plot of the film. Following on from the trailer released earlier this week, Warner Bros. has brought in new artwork that puts the two characters side by side and makes it clear how connected they are in the struggle to clean up Gotham — albeit in very different ways.

The interesting thing about the new poster is that, despite the characters being so similar, the composition of the scene also puts them as opposite figures. On the one hand, we have this Batman played by Bruce Wayne carrying the full brunt of his task in the form of heavy armor and hidden under the bat’s mask. On the other, Selina Kyle appears feline slender and with her face exposed.

And it is not only in semiotics that this disclosure draws attention. Unlike all the other promotional materials in the film, this is one of the few clear images of the batman, allowing us to observe in more detail the costumes of the two characters. So far we haven’t seen, for example, Catwoman’s claws, something that is quite apparent in liberated art.
