Italian activists blocked a road in Rome as part of a series of protests designed to encourage the government to take action to address the climate crisis.
The activists, who are part of the Last Generation group – and which is supported by Extinction Rebellion – claim they were slapped, kicked and even spat on by drivers after they gathered along the Maglianella flyover on the A90 motorway. It was the eighth time that environmental activists blocked a road in Rome in the last 10 days, with eight activists arrested last Wednesday.
