Barbados no longer has a Queen, but it does have Rihanna. Singer named ‘national heroine’ of the world’s newest republic –

The island of Barbados, in the Caribbean, failed to recognize Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state and this Tuesday officially became a Republic. The ceremony featured Prince Charles and the new ‘national heroine’ Rihanna, which continues “to shine brightly like a diamond”.

The singer Rihanna was named, this Tuesday, “national hero” of the country where she was born: Barbados. The decision of the government of the island located in the Caribbean comes after Queen Elizabeth II is no longer seen as its head of state and officially becomes a Republic.
