Biden seems to fall asleep as Humanity debates its future –

During a speech at COP26, US president seems to fall asleep for about 40 seconds, until being ‘awakened’ by an assistant.

The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, appears to have fallen asleep during a speech at COP26 – the world’s largest conference on Climate Change. With Biden’s eyes closed, the speaker could be heard, in a monotone, hurling phrases that contrasted with the posture of the American President: “This conference is one of the most important meetings in history. You have the chance to make decisions and reach agreements that will affect the lives of generations to come.”

The video shows Biden closing his eyes for a long time until he is ‘alarmed’ by an assistant. After the assistant’s question, Biden, who appears to be tired, claps his hands and rubs his eyes.

Joe Biden will be 79 in three weeks. His opposition – particularly Trump – often highlights his age as a reason he no longer has the skill and freshness required of a President. In this logic, they call him ‘Sleepy Joe’ (sleepy Joe). Later, it was Biden’s turn to take the stage and address the world. In this action, he noted that the effort to halt global warming “is a moral imperative, but it is also an economic imperative.” In what appeared to be a criticism of Trump and his departure from the Paris Agreement, Biden stressed “wanting to demonstrate that the US is not just back at the table [de negociações], but they will lead with the power of example”. leaders are meeting in Glasgow to debate Climate Change at COP26.
