MTN Group has announced the appointment of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi 11, to its Board of Directors effective July this year.The telecommunications firm also listed Dr. Aisha Abdullahi, a former African Union (AU) Commissioner for Political Affairs and a former Nigerian Ambassador to Guinea as a board member.
Welcoming the new directors to the Board, outgoing MTN Group Chairman, Phuthuma Nhleko, said the firm was confident that they would bring a wealth of experience, depth of skills and regional insights that would continue to enrich the experience of the board.The group also announced the establishment of a six-member International Advisory Board (IAB), chaired by former South African President, Thabo Mbeki.
