World No. 1 Iga Swiatek says she enters the French Open in positive spirits and is ready for what’s to come in the next two weeks. Swiatek has been by far the best player over the last three months as she came to Roland Garros on a 28-match win streak and she is the top favorite to win the crown at the second Grand Slam tournament of the season.

Swiatek is well-aware that the expectation is pressure is as big as it gets on her but she is embracing the challenge and is ready to give her best to win her second Grand Slam title. Swiatek faced the pressure in Stuttgart and Rome as well but still won those two events with only one set lost.

“I have really positive thoughts. Honestly, a couple of times during all these tournaments I was already stressed about that, and I was able to work through [dealing with pressure, expectations] and do a really good job by just focusing on tennis,” Swiatek said, per Tennis Now.

Swiatek enjoyed her tiramisu

After winning Rome, Swiatek treated herself with lots of tiramisu. Reflecting on that, Swiatek jokingly said she hopes it won’t have a negative affect on her shape at Roland Garros.

“The tiramisu was perfect. I ate all of it, so hopefully it’s not going to have some influence on my shape for this tournament,” Swiatek jokingly said.

If Swiatek wins the French Open, her stunning streak will grow to 35 consecutive wins.

When asked about her approach, Swiatek gave an interesting answer. “I’m not going to, you know, right now really be crazy and say that I’m only going to be happy if I win, because that’s not true,” Swiatek said.

Swiatek knows what it takes to win the French Open as she captured her first and lone Grand Slam title at Roland Garros in 2020.
