Flying Eagles’ Obinna Nwobodo Has Successful Surgery in Qatar

Nigeria Under-20 international Obinna Nwobodo has expressed delights about his successful operation on an injured knee in Qatar.

The Flying Eagles striker, who was forced from participating at last month’s Fifa U-20 World Cup in New Zealand through injury, underwent the procedure at the ASPETAR Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha.

Chief of Surgery, Dr. Philippe Landreau, carried out the surgery, required to correct his torn anterior cruciate ligament.

“I am very happy, and I thank God and the NFF for making this possible,” Nwobodo Is quoted as saying on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) website.

He is expected to remain in the Gulf State for the next five days.

Nwobodo suffered the injury in the second half of the final match of the 2015 African Youth Championship in Senegal, as Nigeria defeated the hosts 1-0 to lift the continental title in March.
