Delegates from the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA), will today inspect facilities at the Asaba Stadium, which will host the 2018 African Senior Athletics Championships, from August 1-5.
Top officials of the body, including the Chief Executive Officer, Lamine Faty, as well as, the technical director, and member of IAAF Technical Commission, Gungaram Gerard Vivian, arrived Lagos on Friday night. They were received by the Head of Security Sub-committee of the championships, Navy Commodore Omatseye Nesiama.
The delegation left Lagos for Warri, yesterday, morning and was received at the airport by the chairman of the Asaba 2018 Local Organising Committee (LOC), Chief Solomon Ogba, alongside other members of the LOC including Yusuf Ali, and Olukayode Thomas.
The visiting CAA officials will inspect facilities on ground at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, this morning before meeting with top officials of Delta State government later in the day.
