Simply a mistake that can happen to even the best tennis players in the world. Stefanos Tsitsipas amazed all the Australian crowd who were watching his match against the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor from the stands for a sensational mistake during a serving session.
In fact, the Greek player sent a second serve somewhere else during the tie-break (later won) of the third and final set. A rare blunder for an athlete like the Greek, who however didn’t fossilize on the lost point and still managed to close the contest in three sets, without having to prolong his presence on the field.

Tsitsipas unstoppable in Melbourne
Tsitsipas has definitely proved to be one of the fittest players on the entire ATP Tour at the start of the 2023 season.
The Greek had essentially no problems in the first rounds of the main draw in Melbourne: after the very good debut (perhaps the most ‘suffering’ match of the three) against the French Quentin Halys, the 24-year-old tennis player defeated the home favorite Rinky Hijikata and then Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor in the third round.
Now a challenge with the highest coefficient of difficulty for Stefanos, who will have to meet the Italian Jannik Sinner again in Australia. A truly luxurious eighth final between the blue and the native of Athens, who wants to repeat the victory obtained last year (on that occasion there was a place for the semifinal up for grabs) and access the quarterfinals.

Tsitsipas wrote in the press conference: “It was the first challenging match against a player who, in the last two weeks, had a good streak.
I knew I had to face something big today. It wasn’t easy in the second set. I didn’t know how I was going to survive that, but I found ways that got me to the tiebreaker. I just waited. I think the second set was important for me to move forward in scoring and get some psychological momentum for what would have been the third and final set. Overall I’m very satisfied with the quality of my game today.”
