Raiders vs. Steelers live score, updates, highlights from NFL Saturday night football game

Raiders-Steelers is one of the most iconic rivalries in NFL history. On Saturday, the two teams will meet in yet another clash. This one means more, though.

They’re playing one day after the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception, the famous play that saw a burly running back stoop to his shoelaces, snag a deflected pass and take it to the house for a game-winning touchdown.

Sadly, the architect of that play won’t be on hand. Franco Harris, the Pittsburgh Hall of Famer who made that catch, died earlier this week. He was 72.

Still, his legacy will swirl all around Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium. Harris will be further immortalized when the franchise retires his No. 32.

The ceremony will be tinged with sadness, but also liveliness. Harris was one of Pittsburgh’s favorite sons, a player who shined at Penn State, made history at Three Rivers Stadium and cemented himself as a local fixture well after his playing days ended.

Raiders vs. Steelers live updates, highlights from NFL Saturday night football game

(All times Eastern)

10:50 p.m.: Carr’s third down pass flies into the sidelines, meaning Pickett, Harris and the gang have a chance to find the end zone once more. 2:55 left for Pittsburgh to get something started.

10:48 p.m.: Pickett and company unable to mount much of anything vs. the Raiders, punting the ball back away unceremoniously. Can’t imagine there is too many chances left for the Steelers to get back into this one. They’ll hope the defense can keep its faultless display in tact.

10:42 p.m.: This Steelers defense is doing everything in its power to keep Pittsburgh in the game. Ball is headed back to Pickett and the offense with six minutes left. Is it Pickett’s time to shine? Only time will tell.

10:35 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Boswell sinks from 40 yards out, cutting Las Vegas’ edge back to four.

Raiders 10, Steelers 6

10:30 p.m.: Pickett appears to be finding a rhythm in the frigid temperatures. Rolled out of the pocket before finding Jaylen Warren with a deft flick of the wrist, keeping the chains moving in the process.

10:27 p.m.: HURDLE ALERT! Najee Harris with a sparkling leap over Nate Dobbs to set up the first down. What a play by the Alabama alum!

10:25 p.m.: AJ Cole with a whirling dervish of a punt that whips out of play at the 45 yard line. Let’s see if the Steelers can (finally) make Vegas pay.

End of third quarter

10:21 p.m.: SACK! Alex Highsmith bursts through the trenches and sends Carr to the turf, setting up the punt! Huge play by the burgeoning Pittsburgh star.

10:19 p.m.: Foster Moreau’s facemask penalty wipes out a delicious 36 yard gain on a Jacobs run off the corner. Huge miscue by the hulking tight end.

10:18 p.m.: Renfrow right back to it. Keeps the chains moving with another impressive route and run.

10:15 p.m.: Raiders defense holds firm to force a three and out. Vegas will get the ball back. It will be interesting to see if it’ll hand the ball off to leading rusher Josh Jacobs more.

10:09 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Minkah Fitzpatrick gets on the interception fun now! Fields an errant Carr throw that slips through Renfrow’s wickets. Not the best of displays by veteran QB at the moment.

10:06 p.m.: Renfrow making a real impact early in the third. Two straight catches, one highlighted by a slick spin, the other by an inch-perfect curl route. Las Vegas up to Pittsburgh’s 41 yard line.

10:02 p.m.: And another Pittsburgh drive ends in zero points. Boswell unable to hit from 52. That’s a major blow for Steel City.

10:00 p.m.: Good bit of improvising from Pickett, who spins out of trouble before slinging a pass to Johnson for the first down. Steelers looking for their first touchdown of the game here.

9:55 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! It takes one play for Pittsburgh to get it back! Foster Moreau unable to field Carr’s pass, which drops right into the hands of Steelers corner Arthur Maulet. That’s how you get it back in blood.

9:52 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! Pickett throws the ball right at Denzel Perryman, who makes no mistakes plucking the pass out the sky. That is a huge let off for Las Vegas’ defense, especially given how well the Steelers were moving the ball beforehand.

Perryman took the ball 24 yards down the field, being stopped in Pittsburgh territory. Not what you want to see if you’re a Steelers fan.

9:50 p.m.: Pittsburgh’s offense has come to life in the opening stages of the third quarter. Pickett has already bagged a trio of double-digit gains, the biggest coming from George Pickens’ 25 yard scamper off the curl.

Steelers are at Vegas’ 35 yard line.

End of second quarter

9:27 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Las Vegas extends its lead back to a touchdown-sized edge after Carlson finds the target from 40 yards out.

Raiders 10, Steelers 3

9:26 p.m.: Pittsburgh’s defense holds, forcing Daniel Carlson onto the field.

9:24 p.m.: Adams smokes Cameron Sutton on his release and finds himself wide open heading towards the end zone. However, Carr’s pass sails on him slightly, slipping just over Tae’s outstretched grasp. Carr will want to have that one back.

9:20 p.m.: Impressive pitch and catch between Carr and Darren Waller. The Raiders’ gunslinger drops a peach of a pass right into Waller’s bread basket, setting up a 34-yard gain as the first half comes to a close. Las Vegas is in prime position to get another score of some sort here.

9:12 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Boswell’s second field goal attempt of the night splits the uprights, cutting Las Vegas’ lead to 4. Just the sort of scoreline you would expect in well below-freezing conditions.

Raiders 7, Steelers 3

8:55 p.m.: Boswell’s kick whips wide, giving Las Vegas the ball in decent field position. That”s not ideal.

8:54 p.m.: After getting to the brink of the first down marker, Pittsburgh brings on the kicking team. Let’s see if Chris Boswell can cut into this Raiders lead.

End of first quarter

8:47 p.m.: That was a close one! Pickett nearly sees his pass to Diontae Johnson get plucked out the sky. However, it gets through and sets up a 16-yard gain to end the first. Maybe that will give Pittsburgh a spark heading into the second.

8:41 p.m.: TJ Watt and company blight the Black and Silver’s glow on its second drive of day, forcing a three and out. That;’s much better from Mike Tomlin’s team.

8:36 p.m.: Happy feet in the pocket for Steelers’ quarterback Kenny Pickett, who isn’t able to complete his passing attempt on third down. Ball is headed back to Las Vegas.

8:28 p.m.: TOUCHOWN! Carr finds Hunter Renfrow for the short-range touchdown. That’s a great start for the Fresno State product.

Raiders 7, Steelers 0

8:21 p.m.: Jacobs finds some space and rips through Pittsburgh’s defense for an 11-yard gain. Pretty steady diet of Jacobs early. Can’t say I’m not surprised, though.

8:20 p.m.: Foster Moreau opens the passing game with a first down snag. Very solid drive by Las Vegas so far.

8:18 p.m.: Josh Jacobs moves the chains with a cut through the trenches. He’s now up to 1,500 rushing yards on the year. Not too bad for a guy who didn’t receive a fifth-year option at the end of last season.

8:17 p.m.: Ball is about to get kicked off. Raiders starting with the ball tonight. Let’s get it on!

8:12 p.m.: We’re about five minutes from the start of the game. National anthem has just been sang. It’s time for the football!

8:09 p.m.: Cameron Heyward leads the defense out on the field with a No. 32 flag. Very cool gesture by the Steelers ahead of Saturday night’s game.

8:03 p.m.: A look at the broadcasting crew ahead of tonight’s duel. Bundled up with about as many layers as one would expect folks working in 10 degree conditions to be wearing.
