Paolo Bertolucci spends harsh words for Jannik Sinner

The first round of the Paris-Bercy ATP tournament, the last Masters 1000 and last major event of the season, is taking place in these hours, with the exception of the ATP Finals in Turin (in which only the best will participate) and the Davis Cup Final Four, which they will be held in about twenty days.

This tournament also highlighted once again the change that is overwhelming Italian tennis and its main players. On the one hand there is the happy note with Lorenzo Musetti, an Italian tennis player who has come back from several great performances, won tournaments and an ascent that could soon bring him among the top 20 players in the world.

Lorenzo is offering great tennis, he is growing strongly and has improved his weak points so much that he is already considered one of the best talents of NextGen. On the other hand, there is the sensational decline of Jannik Sinner.

The Italian number one was considered by many to be the greatest prospect of our tennis and of world tennis as a whole but this 2022 has slowed down his expectations by a lot. Jannik highlighted numerous physical problems and major difficulties in improving his weak points.

Paolo Bertolucci’s comment on Lorenzo Musetti and Jannik Sinner

Musetti won the first round in Bercy against a rather insidious opponent like the Croatian expert Marin Cilic. A double 6-4, a good performance where Lorenzo did not allow a break and controlled the game thus guaranteeing access to the second round against the Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili.

Sinner instead lost badly by collapsing and not showing positive signs against the Swiss Huesler. A clear defeat where Jannik also highlighted physical problems but also a sense of resignation and no reaction to what was happening.

Former tennis player Paolo Bertolucci also commented on this situation on social media and his message appeared as a praise to Lorenzo Musetti and a strong criticism of the Italian tennis player. Sinner now has only the Davis Cup Finals but the first goal is to find a good physical condition and avoid this long series of injuries.
