Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams has partnered with Lacoste for the luxury brand’s latest collection. Williams, 42, is passionate about fashion and she couldn’t hide her happiness after teaming up with Lacoste.
In the video uploaded by Lacoste, Williams delivered an inspiring message. “Life is sports and Sports is life. It’s about experiences. Making the time for those you love. It’s about making my life bigger. Forge your own path and see where that takes you,” Williams said in the video.
Venus Williams hasn’t retired
After Serena Williams revealed her plans to retire after the US Open, some thought that Venus would do the same – but that she was just waiting for her US Open run to finish.
Venus’ run in New York ended and she said nothing afterward. In a recent Q&A with fans on Instagram, Williams seemingly confirmed that she intends to continue her pro tennis career. “No plans for this year. But watch out for next year.
Work on my game. Spend time with the family. Time with my teams. And time at home. It’s been a while,” Williams wrote on Instagram. Venus didn’t make a run at Flushing Meadows this year, but it was certainly an emotional US Open for her because of Serena.
“Unimaginable at first. But I have had time to prepare myself. I’m sure she will still hit with me,” Venus wrote when asked about Serena’s retirement. In Serena’s final tournament, the Williams sisters teamed up for the US Open doubles event.
The Williams sisters, who were playing together for the first time since 2018, lost in the first round to Lucie Hradecka and Linda Noskova. Now that Serena is retired, Venus is likely done with playing doubles. “I think I’m retired from doubles now,” Venus said. Venus has played four singles matches this season. In those four matches played, Venus Williams went 0-4.
