According to Nike’s official website, the Serena Williams Design Crew is a result of the tennis icon partnering with the sports brand “to new voices and help forge the future of design”.
Serena Williams said why she took this decision. “When I step on the court, I definitely want to stand out. I’m Serena and I like to be different. I just like taking a chance when it comes to design,” said Williams.
With the help of Nike designers and partners, “Serena worked with ten up-and-coming designers to create a new era where diverse perspectives are celebrated and empowered. Like Serena, the SWDC apprentices have a bold and progressive vision.
