On the way to Galgorm Castle, in Northern Ireland, the ISPS Handa World Invitational ended, a tournament that gave great emotions. Through ups and downs, Ewen Ferguson from Scotland managed to complete a masterpiece tournament with a wire-to-wire victory, that is, leading the leaderboard from the first to the last day.

The Scotsman’s score, on his second career win, in the end says -12, shots almost all earned in that phenomenal first lap that saw him close at -9. Since then Ferguson has played a golf of great intelligence and great management, overcoming several difficult moments going to conquer a well-deserved success.

Second place shared between the Spaniard Borja Virto and another Scotsman like Connor Syme with a score of -9. Fourth place for an excellent Renato Paratore who climbs 14 positions with a super lap in -6 to hit the second consecutive top5.

At -8 like him the English Rchard Mansell and the Dane Marcus Helligkilde. The splendid tournament of the super amateur Filippo Celli ends in seventh position who recovers two strokes after a third lap a bit subdued and finds what is clearly his best result on the DP World Tour.

Last lap a bit difficult instead for Guido Migliozzi who however, he managed to save an important top20 by closing with a score of -4. The event was created in 2019 and involved separate men’s and women’s events, both having the same prize money.

The men’s event featured on the Challenge Tour schedule. Jack Senior won the men’s event in a playoff over Matthew Baldwin. Stephanie Meadow won the women’s event, beating Charley Hull by one shot. Similarly to 2021, the 2022 event again featured 132 men and 132 women for each championship.

A cut to top 60 and ties after 36 holes (two rounds), then a second cut to top 35 and ties after 54 holes (three rounds). For the first two rounds, all players played one round on each course.
