Novak Djokovic has advised a kid in Melbourne to always believe in his dreams and to never let anybody tell him that his goals were too big or impossible to achieve. Djokovic, 35, is a 22-time Grand Slam champion and widely regarded as one of the greatest players in tennis history.

After winning a record 10th Australian Open, Djokovic shared an inspirational message to a kid before leaving Melbourne. “Always believe in your dreams. That’s very important. Whatever you imagine – you are at (that) age where imagination is very strong – so, don’t let anybody tell you that that imagination is not good – it is good.

Always keep that dream going and nurture it,” Djokovic was heard telling the kid.

Djokovic achieved ‘the biggest victory of his life’

12 months ago, Djokovic was denied participation at the Australian Open.

At the start of this season, Djokovic picked up a hamstring injury. During the Australian Open, there were some who were openly accusing Djokovic of faking an injury. After beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Australian Open final for his 22nd Grand Slam trophy, Djokovic described it as the biggest victory of his career.

“What a journey it’s been. I have to say this has been one of the most challenging tournaments I’ve ever played in my life, considering the circumstances. Not playing last year, coming back this year. Only my team and my family knows what we have been through in the past five weeks.

This is probably the biggest victory in my life, considering the circumstances,” Djokovic said moments after lifting a record 10th Australian Open title. Djokovic will now take some time to rest as he is expected to return to action at the Dubai Tennis Championships in late February.

The Dubai event is set to take place between 27 February – March 04. In Dubai, Djokovic is a five-time champion.
