Eagles boss Patrick Vieira could end the transfer window with a bang by signing Gallagher on loan until the end of the season as the 22-year-old could be an exceptional addition to the squad.
The midfielder would be a dream signing for the club as he already knows the majority of the squad and has worked with the manager, during his time on loan at Selhurst Park last season. This means that the gem would not need the settling-in period that a signing from abroad, with no experience under Vieira’s management or in the Premier League, could need.
Therefore, the dynamo could hit the ground running and make an instant impact heading into the second half of the season, which is ideal for a January signing as they do not get any pre-season to work with the squad.
Gallagher caught the eye with his performances for Palace in the 2021/22 Premier League campaign as the England international plundered eight goals and three assists from midfield – averaging a Sofascore rating of 7.08.
Only one Palace star (Cheick Doucoure) has managed to match that 7.08 rating in the top-flight this season and only three gems have achieved scores of 7.00 or higher, which suggests that the Chelsea man would be one of the top performing players in the side.
The £50k-per-week gem also delighted supporters with his hard work out of possession by making 2.9 tackles and interceptions per match to go along with his attacking contributions, which shows that Gallagher can make a big impact at both ends of the pitch and be an influential player for the club.
