Hoping to make an immediate return to winning ways on Friday night, Lecce will welcome Salernitana to the Stadio Via del mare.

Likewise, marking their return from the festive interval and opening the New Year with a stunning display as they snatched a 2-1 victory at home against Lazio, Lecce have also gained somewhat of a reputation for pulling off heavyweight upsets. Including a 2-1 win against Atalanta prior to the World Cup break, Baroni’s side are rightfully tipped as a standout pick here.
As for the visitors, while Salernitana might still find themselves sat outside the drop zone, it is fair to say that Davide Nicola’s side are enduring a nightmare run of form. Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny after suffering that infamous 8-2 drumming away at La Dea on January 15th, the Garnets have shown a string of glaring issues on either side of the festive break. Last seen putting in another downbeat display as they were hit with a routine 2-0 loss at home against Napoli, the Campania-based outfit are without a single win from any of their previous seven straight Serie A battles. Clearly gaining a reputation for their woeful defensive issues, Salernitana could face a tricky test when they travel to Lecce on Friday night.
