
There are less than two weeks left in the January transfer window – and time is running out for the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United to bolster their squads.

Man Utd and Chelsea join Raya race
Manchester United and Chelsea are set to rival Tottenham in the race for David Raya’s signature, according to The Telegraph.
Raya’s current deal at Brentford is due to expire in the summer of 2024 and the Spaniard does not intend to pen fresh terms with the Bees.
That could tempt the Londoners to cash in rather than lose him for free, with a host of Premier League clubs now keeping an eye on Raya’s situation.

Leicester pencil in medical
Leicester City are edging towards their first signing of the window with FC Copenhagen defender Victor Kristiansen set to undergo a medical with the Foxes.
As per The Telegraph, a fee has now been agreed with the Danish outfit with the defender set to fly to the UK for tests.
West Ham make Ings offer
West Ham United have reportedly made an offer to sign Aston Villa striker Danny Ings as the Hammers attempt to haul themselves away from relegation trouble.
The Hammers have an experienced forward on their shopping list between now and the end of the season and The Telegraph have revealed that Ings is in their sights.
David Moyes reportedly attempted to sign the ex-Liverpool man during his time at Real Sociedad and could finally secure a deal with Villa reportedly willing to sell.
Arsenal hit with loan dilemma
Arsenal will reportedly have to loan out Ivan Fresneda immediately after signing him should they complete a deal for the Real Valladolid starlet.
The Gunners have been linked with a swoop for the 18-year-old over the past couple of days. With Cedric Soares seemingly on the way out, they could bolster their options with his arrival.
However, it is suggested by The Evening Standard that the Spanish side want him back on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
Chelsea lodge Dumfries bid
Chelsea are reportedly attempting to continue their huge spending spree with a move for Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries.
The Blues have a;ready been hard at work this January with moves for Mudryk, Joao Felix and Benoit Badiashille and have tabled a £31m bid for Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries. That is according to La Repubblica who state that Chelsea are keen to sign the former PSV star.
He has also been linked with a move to Man Utd this month.
Arsenal ‘make Raphinha contact’
Arsenal reportedly want to sign Barcelona winger Raphinha ‘at all costs’ this January after the club missed out on the signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea.
That is according to Spanish outlet Sport who suggest that the Brazilian’s representatives have already been contacted over a potential move. It is suggested that the former Leeds star does not want to leave just yet and should Arsenal remain frustrated in their pursuit in winter, they could revisit a potential deal in the summer.
Leicester close on £17m defender Kristiansen
Leicester are in the final stages of talks to clinch a £17million deal for FC Copenhagen defender Victor Kristiansen.
Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers has got the green light to make signings this month after four successive defeats.
Leicester want to bring in left-back Kristiansen, 20, before Saturday’s home match against Brighton.
Kristiansen, a Denmark U21 international, will boost Leicester with James Justin out for the season with a ruptured Achilles and Ricardo Pereira sidelined.
Negotiations have also been ongoing with Fiorentina over a deal for Argentine winger Nicolas Gonzalez.
City squad men Ayoze Perez, Jannik Vestergaard, Caglar Soyuncu and Dennis Praet have been made available to free up room and funds for new players.
Kristiansen helped the Danish side record a 0-0 draw against Manchester City in the Champions League back in October.
Barcelona open talks with Atletico Madrid for Carrasco
With Memphis Depay in the verge of leaving Barcelona, the Catalan giants are apparently eyeing a move the other way.
As per Relevo., Barca have opened talks with Atletico Madrid for the signing of Yannick Carrasco. The Belgian has just 18 months remaining on his contract and apparently has offers from clubs in England.
However, Barcelona have opened talks with Atleti regarding a move.
Weghorst handed Man Utd debut
Manchester United’s surprise signing Wout Weghorst has been handed his first Red Devils’ start having penned a loan deal at Old Trafford.
The Dutch striker was signed on a season-long loan from Burnley and amid an injury to Anthony Martial has been handed his Red Devils bow. Erik ten Hag’s men take on Crystal Palace this evening.
Bournemouth pen in medical
Bournemouth have reportedly penned in a medical for signing Dango Outtara.
The Cherries have reportedly agreed a 27.5m deal with Lorient for the forward. According to Foot Mercato, he will now fly into England on Thursday to undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half year deal.
Alvarez in line for new contract
Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez is reportedly in line for a news Manchester City contract just a few months after arriving.
The Argentine has impressed at the Etihad Stadium this season following his summer signing with eight goals in 23 appearances. According to the Daily Mail, the reigning Premier League champions are expecting to open talks over an extended deal with the striker.
Atletico Madrid agree Depay deal
Atletico Madrid have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Memphis Depay from Barcelona.
The Dutchman is out of contract at the end of the campaign and was tipped to leave the Camp Nou having fallen behind Robert Lewandowski following the Polish striker’s arrival.
As per The Athletic, Atleti have agreed to pay £2.6m for his services. Depay was initially linked with a return to Man Utd, as well as a move to Arsenal.
Forest close to Wood deal
Nottingham Forest are reportedly closing in on a loan move for Newcastle striker Chris Wood.
Steve Cooper’s men are in the market for a forward after Taiwo Awoniyi’s injury and have turned to St James’ Park. As per The Athletic, Forest are close to sealing a loan move for Wood who has seen his game time with Newcastle limited so far this season.
An option to make the switch permanent is thought to be included with the New Zealand frontman becoming the club’s third arrival of the summer.
Spurs lodge Porro bid
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly lodged an opening bid for Sporting Lisbon defender Pedro Porro.
As per Fabrizio Romano, the London side have tabled a fee with a player involved with the Portuguese side having turned down the approach. It is suggested that Sporting are holding out for the €45m release clause written into his current contract.
Copenhagen respond to Leicester ‘agreement’
Danish giants FC Copenhagen have responded to claims that Leicester City are closing in on an agreement for left-back Victor Kristiansen.
A statement read: “Rumors have been confirmed in the market today about a possible transfer of the footballer Victor Kristiansen to Leicester City FC. FC Copenhagen can confirm that an offer has been received for Victor Kristiansen from Leicester City FC. Negotiations are currently underway between the parties, and there is no certainty that an agreement will be reached.
“PARKEN Sport & Entertainment A/S has no further comments at this time. Should a final agreement be concluded, a company announcement will be issued to this effect.”
It has been claimed that the Foxes are closing in on a £17m deal for the defender.
Martinez heads to Inter Miami
Josef Martinez has left joined Inter Miami after leaving MLS rivals Atlanta.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to represent Inter Miami and give the best of myself,” said Martinez, 29.
“This is a club with high aspirations and that aims to be amongst the best in the league. I hope to help the team achieve its objectives and leave my mark at the club.”
The new MLS season starts next month.
Man Utd after Raya
Considering the Sommer rumours, it is no surprise Manchester United are looking elsewhere for their next goalkeeper.
According to The Telegraph, United are interested in signing Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
Chelsea and Tottenham are also believed to be after the Spain international, 27.
Raya has just 18 months left on his existing deal.
Bayern after Sommer
Bayern Munich are set to sign Yann Sommer, according to transfer guru Christian Falk.
The Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper, 34, is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with Manchester United.
Bayern are after a new goalkeeper after Maneul Neuer suffered a broken leg while skiing.
Moyes could join Everton
If West Ham do sack Moyes after their next game against Everton, he is expected to be immediately installed as the favourite for the Toffees job by the bookies.
That’s because Everton boss Frank Lampard is also facing the chop.
Moyes facing the sack
West Ham will consider sacking David Moyes if they lose to Everton on Saturday, according to The Telegraph.
Both clubs are in the relegation zone.
Nuno Espirito Santo, Rafael Benitez and Sean Dyche are all viewed as potential candidates to replace Moyes.
Motherwell aim to re-sign Penney
Motherwell want to re-sign Matt Penney from Ipswich on loan.
The 24-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at Fir Park.
Motherwell boss Steven Hammell told the club’s website: “Matt has now went back to Ipswich, however, we remain in dialogue with them with regards to Matt.
“Although discussions are ongoing, we are constantly looking at viable alternatives in the transfer market.
“Matt has been an outstanding addition to the team this season and should he not return to the club, I want to thank him for his effort in his time at Motherwell.”
Dortmund after Elanga
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly plotting a move for Manchester United star Anthony Elanga.
According to talkSPORT, via FourFourTwo, Dortmund are considering making a bid for Swedish winger Elanga following the emergence of Alejandro Garnacho into the first-team picture at Old Trafford. The 20-year-old has failed to score in 18 appearances for the Red Devils this season, having broke through last term.
However, Dortmund are hoping to lure the United attacker to Germany and it is understood that Elanga would be open to a fresh challenge. Elanga is thought to be desperate to get more playing time and would consider a move to another big European club, with Dortmund and Everton amongst those linked with a move.
Arsenal learn Diaby price
Bayer Leverkusen want £88million for Moussa Diaby, according to Sky Sports.
The 23-year-old is a transfer target for Arsenal.
Diaby’s price tag has increased after Mykhaylo Mudryk – a former Arsenal target – joined Chelsea for £88m.
Antony’s £85m move from Ajax to Manchester United last summer has also inflated the market.
Liverpool want Bellingham and Nunes
Liverpool will try to sign Jude Bellingham and Matheus Nunes in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Bellingham, 19, is currently on the books at Borussia Dortmund, while Nunes, 24, plays for Wolves.
The Reds are looking to improve their midfield after a difficult start to the season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are ninth in the Premier League table.
Aluko leaves Angel City
Eni Aluko is no longer Angel City’s sporting director.
The former England international, 35, has left the position by mutual consent.
“Angel City and Eniola Aluko have mutually agreed to part ways,” read a statement. She is returning to the UK to be close to her family, focus on her broadcasting career, and other opportunities.
“We are grateful to Eni for her contributions to our historic inaugural season.”
Garnacho close to new deal
Alejandro Garnacho is close to signing a new contract at Manchester United, according to The Telegraph.
The 18-year-old’s current deal expires in June 2025.
Barcelona keen on Gundogan
Barcelona are looking into a swoop for Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, according to The Telegraph.
Gundogan was Pep Guardiola’s first signing as City boss, joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2016, and scored the goal which gave his team the Premier League title last term.
The Catalan club have also looked at Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante as they eye up midfielders who are out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
Man Utd youngster completes loan move
Manchester United youngster Maxi Oyedele has joined Altrincham on loan.
The 18-year-old midfielder was on the bench for Altrincham’s 3-2 win against National League rivals Maidenhead United on Tuesday evening.
Altrincham are 10th in the table.
