NFL legend Tom Brady has reached the end of yet another season, and the star is set to consider his future once again as his career draws to a close.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have made the score line more respectable late on, but they were overwhelmed by the Dallas Cowboys who cruised with a 31-14 victory. Cowboys quarterback really flexed his muscles with three passing touchdowns and a rushing score for himself, while Brady was struggling to find options.
Brady eventually managed to connect with his offense in the endzone, but it was too late as the Cowboys had already booked their date with the San Francisco 49ers next weekend. Brady was extremely reflective in his post-match press conference, pledging to think about his future “one day at a time.”
The Buccaneers star was rarely reflective about his time during his press conference, which has led to some speculation that he could be bowing out, at least of the franchise. Brady retired very briefly after last season, but returned to run it back with the Buccaneers once more.
They may have made the playoffs, but it was far from a successful season. And now he’s left with a few decisions – should he continue his NFL career and if so, where?
Brady will have some time to think about all of that, and even addressed the elephant in the room in his post-game chat. “One day at a time, truly,” he said.
“Just feels like the end of the season,” he added when being asked about if there were any lingering emotions. And then, unprompted, he proceeded to thank the Buccaneers for making him feel welcome in Tampa Bay.
“I love this organization. It’s a great place to be. Thank you, everybody, for welcoming me,” Brady said, as reporters looked on. “I’m very thankful for the respect and I hope I gave the same back.”
The neutral will be wishing for Brady to have one more playoff shot before calling time. as no one wants to see the greatest to ever go out on such a sour note. Brady will surely have offers to move on, and maybe even stay at the Buccaneers, but only the 45-year-old knows what’s right for him.
