Transfer news LIVE! Arsenal want Raphinha and Torres; Chelsea to spend £100m more; Spurs in Porro talks

With Arsenal having officially lost out to Chelsea on the Mykhaylo Mudryk signing, the January transfer window is expected to spring into life. Mikel Arteta, whose side beat Tottenham on Sunday to extend their lead atop the Premier League, is keen on a wide forward and could now turn attentions to Barcelona pair Raphinha and Ferran Torres during what remains of the window.

Over at Stamford Bridge, meanwhile, the spending is not expected to stop. Even with Mudryk through the door, there are claims the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital regime are ready to invest a further £100m into Graham Potter’s side as doubts about Raheem Sterling’s future emerge.

While Spurs aren’t thought to be in line for such spending, Antonio Conte’s side continue to be linked with Sporting right-back Pedro Porro and transfer talks over the Spain international are reportedly set. Follow all of the latest news, gossip and rumours below!

Tottenham to hold Pedro Porro transfer talks

Tottenham will meet with Sporting Lisbon this week to try and strike a deal for Pedro Porro.

The Portuguese club continue to insist they will only sell if the €45m releause clause is paid in full, but Ben Jacobs reports that Spurs still want to see if they can get the full-back for a cheaper price.

It’s claimed that Porro is keen on the move, and Tottenham remain hopeful they will not have to pay the full amount.

Chelsea to spend £100m more after Mudryk signing

With Mykhaylo Mudryk now through the door, you could be forgiven in thinking that Chelsea are ready to slow down somewhat.

Having spent close to £400m now since May’s takeover, it’s difficult to see how the Blues fit any more new signings in.

Still, according to Football Insider, the Boehly-Clearlake Capital regime are ready to spend £100m MORE during what remains of this month’s transfer window.

Arsenal want Raphinha AND Ferran Torres

After losing out on their top target, Arsenal are seemingly scrambling.

It’s pretty clear Mikel Arteta is hell-bent on bringing a wide forward into his ranks between now and the end of the season and attentions have reportedly turned to Barcelona.

Raphinha is a target but, according to 90 Min, the Gunners also want to sign Ferran Torres.

The former Manchester City forward could also arrive as part of a huge double swoop.

Arteta gives transfer update

Mikel Arteta has confirmed the club are still looking to be active in the transfer market.

The Gunners missed out on Mudryk and are now turning their attentions elsewhere as they look to strengthen in forward areas.

“The window is open, we’ll try to improve the team,” Arteta told Sky Sports after Arsenal’s win over Tottenham.

“There are always a few parties involved. The club is willing, they have my support, I have their support, and we will try to do it together.”

Potter: Fans will really like Mudryk

Graham Potter has backed Mykhaylo Mudryk to have a big future at Chelsea, and joked he hopes to remain at Stamford Bridge for the duration of his eight-and-a-half-year contract.

Mudryk was unveiled at Stamford Bridge during Sunday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace after finalising his £89million transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Potter said: “He’s a player with a big future, exciting, one vs one, he’s very direct, he attacks the back-line, can go into wide areas but also affects the goal. A really exciting player and I think our supporters will really like him.”

Remarkably, Chelsea have signed Mudryk on a deal until 2031 as they look to spread their costs throughout the contract.

“I’m the head coach and, as you know, I’ve had enough to worry about before thinking about contract lengths,” said Potter.

“I’ll leave that to the club and what’s right for the club. I’ll try to support as best I can. I’m looking forward to working with him. If I’m here for the remainder of his contract, then we’ll all be happy!”

West Ham in for Moff

West Ham have reportedly made a £25m bid for Lorient striker Terem Moff.

Foot Mercato claim that the Hammers have offered £20m up front with a further £5m in add-ons, as they look to strengthen in forward areas.

Despite a summer of big spending, West Ham are in the relegation zone and have scored just 15 goals in 19 Premier League matches this season.

Arteta: Arsenal will have discipline

Mikel Arteta insisted Arsenal will keep their “discipline” in the transfer market after missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Ukrainian winger was unveiled at Stamford Bridge earlier on Sunday after Chelsea sealed an £89m deal, with Mudryk signing an eight-and-a-half year contract with the Blues after they reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Mudryk was Arsenal’s top target and the Gunners had been involved in lengthy negotiations with Shakhtar, seemingly closing in on a deal before Chelsea swooped to hijack the deal over the weekend.

“I’m very proud to have the players that we have,” Arteta told Sky Sports when asked about Chelsea signing Mudryk.

“We always want to improve the squad. The club is the first one that is trying to do everything we can to improve the players.

“But I think as well we have to have some discipline. We have to be very consistent in the targets that we want but also in what we are able to do in each moment.”
