Novak Djokovic talked about his family in an interview for Tennis Majors. The Serbian is followed by his wife and children in various European tournaments, the situation is different when you have to move to other continents.

Novak explained: “It’s not easy. There is no perfect formula. Like many other people, I travel a lot due to the nature of my job. Seeing my wife, kids, parents and siblings isn’t always easy. I can’t spend as much time as I want with my family.

Now, for example, I will be spending more than a month in Australia. It hurts, I cry every time I leave the house. Sometimes I wish things were different, but I’m grateful for all that life has given me. My difficulties are nothing compared to those of others.

I am aware of this thing. But I miss my family a lot. I find myself constantly searching for the necessary balance. Sometimes I can plan everything with my wife, sometimes not. That’s life. The most important thing for a man is to remain true to himself and do his best to adapt to all circumstances.” For every athlete it is essential to find the right balance between work and family.

In the world of tennis, in particular, players are forced to travel around the world to play in the most important tournaments on the major circuit. Not always tennis players have the opportunity to travel with their loved ones.

Djokovic is in Australia

Djokovic began his season in Adelaide and claimed his 92nd career title by beating Sebastian Korda in the final. The Serbian suffered a problem with his left leg during the tournament and left the first training session on the Australian Open courts after a few minutes as a precaution.

He told: “I felt a nuisance and stopped because I wanted to avoid any risk in view of the Australian Open. We played for about half an hour, then I apologized to Daniil Medvedev and he understood the situation.”
